The settings of the story are appealling, but the story itself was not well-written.
Especially, the last part was not as fascinating as I thought. If I become a dragon because of the unquenchable anger and the disapointment about the world, I will NEVER ever want to come back to the human world, let alone help the world become better. I just wanna leave the past behind and seek for my own and total freedom, instead of being bundled by the responsibilities the human world forced on me.
However, I cannot work out better solutions for the destines of the gone dragons, whether they lived on a different planet, or in wild forests/ uninhabited islands. Maybe come back to the human world is an available choice, particularly so if you cannot get rid of something.
Besides, why Alex and Sonja not belong together in the end? There’s not any explanations in the book.
